f you are like most everyone in our club, you
would like to protect the rear end of sills of your rig and gain a better departure angle. This Tech Tip provided by John Vegas show us how to add a RoverTym Engineering Rear Bumper to your Disco.
Club Disclaimer:
We are not recommending you use these instructions to install this or any otherrear bumper on your vehicle. My advice is to take your vehicle to an authorized dealer and have the bumper installed by a professional.
The following is simply a documentary of how the bumper was installed. If you decide to purchase and install a new bumper and end up butchering your car... it's your fault...
Take it to an authorized dealer!

Taking the rear bumper off is an easy enough task. You just pop out the indicator lights then its only two bolts to take off the entire assembly.

The rear mud flaps must be removed and they're riveted to he frame, so they need to be drilled out.

After that, you also need to cut these brackets off holding the mud flap from the opposite side.
The one on the passenger side you want to cut just below the fuel line.

Then some of the rear quarter panel needs to be removed as per RTE instructions.

Fit on the new mud flaps.

Drop the hitch and remove the two spacers because the new RTE bumper uses this as an additional mounting point.

Now the fun part.
How does one guy lift, and hold, an approximately 100lb bumper?
Remember those milk crates you "borrowed" back in your college days?
Well, they sill come in handy even after all those years.

And after a few heave ho's, presto...new bumper is installed.
