 Margaret Swan, Office Manager of The Rover Shoppe, passed away on December 20, 2007
at the age of 83 from complications following leg surgery.
Anyone who used The Rover Shoppe and their Rover “Wellness Clinic” got to know Margaret well. She was the “Mother Hen” who kept young Vic and the other “kids” in line and kept the books with military precision. In fact, Margaret’s association with Land Rovers goes back to the 70s, as she worked for Barney Garver for 26 years, before moving with Doc, Vic and Gregg to The Rover Shoppe when it started 7 years ago. And as office manager of Barney Garver, she hired Vic. I bet that was a fun interview!
Margaret’s daughter has asked that a memorial ceremony be held for Margaret at The Rover Shoppe on Saturday, December 29 at 11.00 am, and all her friends are welcome to come. As her daughter said, “after Margaret’s husband passed away, The Rover Shoppe was Margaret’s life and there is no more fitting place to hold a ceremony.” Now that Margaret is gone, The Rover Shoppe will not be quite the same place, and all of us who have made The Rover Shoppe our “Rover home away from home” will miss her greatly.
