Kirby, the President, called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m.   Kirby introduced Travis Brown, who brought back a D 90 from Europe.  Travis purchased the D 90 while he in was in the Military and had it transported back to the United States.

Kirby reported that he had read reports that the Cummins Engine Company has developed an engine that is Defender ready.  Kirby is thinking about purchasing one and if he does, would welcome any help. Discussion followed.

Last month several members of the Club participated in the Cheeseburger Loop.  They started in Montgomery and drove most of the day for a total of 160 miles.  There was a good mix of roads and everybody had a good time.

The Second Annual Rusty Rover Run is scheduled for June 15, 2019.  This is a weekend event that starts on Friday and ends on Sunday. Since that is Father’s Day weekend, the date is tentative.

In July, Sergio and family are doing their annual trip to Colorado.   Everyone is welcome to join them. Also scheduled for July is the Camel Trophy Viewing Party to be held at Kirby’s home in Cypress.

Steve M. suggested a Fossil Run that starts up by Dallas.

Donnie reminded people to pay their dues.   If you go to the website, and you don’t know your membership number, just type in your name and you can pay them via Paypal.

Don’t forget to check out the Club’s Instagram account. The account is “Houston_Land_Rover_Club.”

Philip gave information on numerous websites and shops where members could purchase Land Rover parts.

Donnie had posted a question on the Yahoo Groups website – which winch is better?   After much debate, the members took an informal vote during the meeting – Superwinch, Smittybilt, or Warn.  Smittybilt winches won.

Door prizes were drawn and the meeting was adjourned at 8:15 p.m.

Minutes recorded by Barbara Jacoby Howell, Secretary.
