Houston Land Rover Club

Vehicle: 2006 LR3 HSE

I started off by installing an ARB Deluxe Bull Bar painted to match vehicle.  Mounted behind the ARB you'll find a Warn XD9000 Self-Recovery Winch w/ roller fairlead. Mounted on top of the ARB you’ll find some “Black Magic”…Hella Black Magic driving lights that is.  These lights are one of the chameleons in Hella’s driving light offering.  Hella’s exclusive Black Optics™ Technology starts with a striking all-black look when the lamp is off...but flip the switch and you get a super bright, enhanced-focus driving beam. The Black Magic Driving Light’s styling brings a stealth look to high performance lighting! Just under the front you'll find the LR factory skid plate.  Along the sides of the vehicle you’ll find some extreme underbody protection courtesy of Off-Roving.com.  These wonderful rock sliders which are visually pleasing offer protection which follows the lines of the vehicle. Underbody protection which integrates protective skid plates, sill protection (typical slider function), side step, & door panel protection.  They are unique in that they provide expansive protection of the underside of the chassis from the frame to the sill, the length of the vehicle from wheel to wheel [including the frame]. The sliders are bolted to the frame and body using nine factory hardpoints, providing enhanced rigidity, allowing impact forces to be distributed over a much greater area. These sliders are capable of supporting the full weight of the vehicle.  I chose Option II which includes the full length underbody protection from Frame-to-Sill, BUT it adds the heavy duty .188” thick wall steel stand-off tubes that project out just beyond the body moldings, providing protection from rocks and outcroppings on the sides of the vehicle. “Work-boots”…I had to get rid of the 19” wheels and move back to the 18” in order to get AT tires so I picked up some Redbourne Dukes with a dark grey powder coated finish and put some 265/60/18 Goodyear Wrangler Silent Armor tires on them.  These tires are made with Kevlar which is pound for pound, five times stronger than steel and helps to give this tire its toughness,  Another benefit is that the Kevlar acts as a barrier to help absorb road noise for a smooth, quiet, comfortable ride.

Left to do…waiting for the gas tank plate and the differential plate.
