Moab,

Saturday, March 27th, 8:00AM
(7:00AM New Mexico time).
It's
cold. It's about 45°.
 We
arrived at Cline's Corner around 6:00PM last night.
The price of gas seems to be increasing...
Not a good sign
of
things
to come. We hung out at Clines Corner for a bit
and continued
to drive north through Santa Fe and north about 50
more miles.
We are at a state park in
New Mexico (N36°14.775',W106°25.915').
About
2:30AM I heard what I thought was rain beating down
on the outside of my
Tentcot. I heard Special Ed outside scurrying around,
and I asked if everything was OK. He said it was
sleeting and he forgot to put on his rain fly and the
sleet
was getting into his tent. BRRRRRR. No coyotes or
pump-jacks though.
The park
is right beside the Abiquiu Reservoir, so we had
a nice view:
We'll be heading out to Moab in a few...
Saturday, March 27th, 8:30PM (7:30PM New Mexico
time).
We made it to Moab a little after 5:00PM.
Once we left the park, we drove to Durango, CO. We
stopped at the Wal-mart and picked all sorts of implements
of destruction including food and additional warmth.
After purchasing $42,000 worth of food at Wal-Mart,
Angie decided she needed to have a sandwich from Subway,
so we waited the four and a half hours required by
the Subway folks to make her sandwich. I don't get
it... I mean, why did we spend all of that money on
food at Wal-mart? Josh wondered the same thing too.
Once we left Wal-Mart, we stopped at AutoZone so Doug
could try and find a replacement bulb for one of his
fog lights. AutoZone didn't have it, so we stopped
at Napa; they didn't have it either. We drove
11 miles and stopped at the gas station. See a pattern
here?
Once we did get going, we saw lots of neat stuff.
It snowed on us, it rained on us, the sun shined on
us. Really pretty sights on the road as you can see
below:
Once
we arrived, we found us a nice camp spot and we set
up camp. Josh went for a ride around the camp
site and came back and told us he found a nicer camp
site further in. So, we tore down camp and moved. He
was right this place is nicer (N38°25.385',W109°26.920').
It's cold again. We're all sitting around the camp
fire and you can see every star in the sky. Doug is
showing us all of his nifty camping gear and Angie
is roasting marshmellows.
We're supposed to meet the rest of the clan tomorrow--you
guys drive safe.
Hopefully
I will find a hotspot in downtown Moab so I can upload
this.
Good night...
