Cosmo's
Big Adventure - Sergio Sosa
June 28-July 6
It's
underway... Pictures here!
Cosmo is the name of my dog. This will be his adventure.
The key word here is "adventure". The basic
plan is to start at one end of Colorado and end up at
the other.... OFFROAD. We will be going from Silverton
to Breckenridge mostly on fire roads, and as little
pavement as possible, stopping at all of the interesting
little towns along the way. Each trail section is planned
to start and stop at a town large enough to have restaurants
and hotels, but camping is more fun. In fact, camping
gear may be required because of the unpredictability
of the "adventure".
Priorities:
1. Get to Colorado
2. Drive offroad
3. Visit some of the beatiful mining towns
4. See postcard quality vistas live and in person
5. Have a good time
What to expect:
1. A great time going offroad in Colorado
2. See things you will remember for a lifetime
3. Do things you will remember for a lifetime
What to be prepared for:
1. Altitude
2. A sudden change of weather (Colorado can sometimes
snow in July)
3. The possibility of getting caught by nightfall in
the middle of nowhere
4. A sudden change of route plans to accomodate trail
conitions, weather, etc.
5. Mechanical failures
The plan:
