The Club President, Steve McDonald, began the meeting at 7:40 with the usual club member introductions.
Past Events:
- Beach Run: Chris Crouch, Tim & Libby and Steve McDonald took “Bill Mallin’s route” to Port Arthur. They might try to organize a camping trip next.
- Monster Garage at Lance Miller’s shop.
Upcoming Events:
March:
- Trail clearing Sunday 9th and 16th at Columbus. Meet at the McDonalds in Columbus at 9am. Food will be catered.
- Dealer Events: 18 confirmed vehicles and about 40 people signed in already. Next Friday is the deadline to RSVP. About 150 people estimated between the 3 dealerships that will be divided in 3 groups. Bill Mallin offered to take pictures of everybody and their vehicles. Steve wants the most experienced people helping along the track – CBs will be necessary.
April:
- SCARR: 17th through 20th. You can just show up and pay at the gate. If a larger group is interested a special price could be arranged.
- First Aid Training – Date to be determined: Two weeks notice required to set it up. Second level is a 40 hour course, it could be scheduled and spread apart as preferred.
- 7 acre woods in Conroe offered land for a family day. Generally they don’t do campfires but they are open to the idea. Good place for kids
- Saturday 12th Motor Cars open house.
Long distance trips:
- Steve McDonald’s potential trip to Yellowstone. Two weeks in June or July. 4800 miles round trip. Everyone is invited to join if interested
- Solihull Society : First and Second week of September to Mohab
Sam asked everybody to suggest any events they would like to.
Future event ideas:
- Bill Burke training: 10 more people required to sing up to meet the minimum. Deadline to sign up is March 15th.
- Basic Recovery class for new members if there is interested
Other things mentioned:
Steve McDonald brought copies of article about Terrain-Response for everybody.
