The Club President, Steve McDonald, began the meeting at 7:30 with the usual club member introductions.

Past Events:

  1. Annual General Meeting last month.
  2. BMRA work weekend: Barnwell Mountain Recreational Area (also known Gilmer).  Trey Burns participated with a group of people from the club.
  3. Mini Monster Garage at Sam’s house to work on his truck and get him going.
  4. Sergio talked about his trip to Big Bend with Ashli over Thanksgiving .   They shared pictures of all the snow there was in the desert!

Upcoming Events:

  1. Level One First Aid Class: six people signed-in already.  Date of the class to be determined.
  2. Elves & More bike building with Doug next Saturday December 15th. Doug recommends the event and says it’s a lot of fun.
  3. Christmas Light Tour on December 15th also, everyone will meet at Sam’s house.
  4. New Year’s Party at Steve and Mary’s House! – Steve’s son is in the military and will be here for the New Year’s, so Steve is getting ready for a big party .
  5. Steve mentions that he would like us to participate in Build Together Houston since we are not participating in the Adopt A Highway Program anymore.
  6. There is a possibility of a dealer event in February.  The three Land Rover Dealerships might get together to increase turnout.
  7. Bill Burke will be coming through town this year.  About 4 or 5 people present are interested in organizing an event with him.  There is a concern about how expensive his classes are: it has happened in the past (Brazos Valley) that Bill had little turnout for that reason.
  8. Steve is planning a two week trip to Yellowstone sometime this year.

Other Club News:

Steve will check if there are any more petitions available online to prevent trail closures.

Doug recommended several books from his personal “Expedition and First Aid Library”

Chris Urquieta announced that per his current deed restrictions people are allowed to camp in his property in Canyon Lake.

The meeting ended at 8:30 p.m.
The minutes were recorded by Silvana Micolich - Secretary
