- ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING
Due to the fact that the November 10, 2006 meeting was the AGM, formal minutes were not recorded. The members were asked to vote for (1) HLRC officers for 2007 and (2) an amendment to the Bylaws.
Members were given at least two months to nominate people to the Board. The following members running for officer were as follows:
Steve McDonald for President;
Bill Mallin for Vice President;
Lance Sloan for Treasurer;
Barbara Howell for Membership;
Mary McDonald for Secretary;
Sam Shirley for Events Coordinator;
Andy Warner for Web Master and
Erik Pacior for Artistic Director.
Ballots were handed out when members signed in at the AGM and the new 2007 Board of Directors was announced during the AGM. The above listed nominees won the election with a huge majority.
The HLRC also voted on whether to amend article 3(1) of the HLRC Bylaws to state as follows:
Replace the second sentence of Article 3(1) “Owners of vehicles other than Land Rovers are not eligible.” with “In the event that someone wished to become a member of the HLRC that does not own a Land Rover, that person shall complete an application for membership (“Application”) and the Application will then be reviewed by the Board of Directors, who will vote to accept or reject the Application. The vote among the Board of Directors must be unanimous.”
Pursuant to the Bylaws, this amendment was approved by a 2/3 majority vote of the membership and the results were announced at the AGM.
