Discussions at Meeting:
Our V.P. Sergio Sosa, began the meeting at 7:30 with
the usual
introductions.
We then discussed past events. Angie
Gorman brought
up Chris U. winning "most trail prepared rig" at
the Hailey fund raiser that SHR put on.
Those that went had a good time and it was nice to do something for
someone else.
We talked about the great time we had at Sugarloaf.
We hope that Kai will set up another event there SOON!(hint hint ):O)
The Fudd's Fundraiser raised $23.00. We hope the next
one we have more
members able to attend so we can continue to raise money for the club.
Chris U. talked about A LOT of acreage that was acquired
by his
girlfriend Laura near Big Bend. He is going to look into the guidelines
for having a run there.
*We discussed the SCARR event (April 30 May 2)

It would be nice to have a lot of participants from
the HLRC. We need
to show these people who have the BEST club! :O)
Not only is Barnwell, http://www.texasmotorizedtrails.com/ohvareas/barnwell/index.html a
great place to have fun but we have a chance to mingle
with others
that are Rover enthusiasts like us. There is going to be guided trail
rides depending upon vehicle and level of experience. They also plan to
have rookie off road and recovery training. (If you're new to wheeling
or have a stock vehicle do not let that stop you from going. There are trails
that stock vehicles CAN do and if you're new to wheeling
you need
to begin somewhere. This is a good way to start since they will have
the run set up by vehicle and driving experience). Let's go have FUN
and have a GOOD showing from the HLRC!!!
If you ordered a shirt from Bill
Mallin and have not paid him you need
to do so.
He is placing the order on April
12 so if you still want to order one
there is a few days left. Bill also has a PAYPAL account that you can
pay him through.

If you ordered a club emblem from Erik you need to
pay him as well. The
cost is $47.00 and they should be in about 2 weeks.
Our "web dood" presented
a slide show of pictures taken on there trip
to Moab, Utah. The people that went told stories to go along with the
pictures. Doug showed some video that he took while driving. If you
want to see the pictures and the story of there adventure you can check
it out at
http://www.houstonlandroverclub.com/events_moab_bill_burke.html
Lastly,
we had the door prizes and our "head
honcho" Ken Mendez talks
about how well the club is doing and let's keep the
club enthusiasm
strong.
The meeting ends at 8:50.
Next meeting is May 5!
