Sergio Sosa, the President, reported on the Big Bend trip that was taken by several club members over Thanksgiving weekend. There are very few trails for "off-roading" in Big Bend.

Sergio reported that the Board had discussed amending the Bylaws with the following change -- adding Art Director, Webmaster, Events Coordinator, Committee Members without Portfolio, and Community Relations Officer as permanent Board positions. In order to amend the Bylaws, any revision must be brought up for discussion at a regular membership meeting and then voted on, by the club members, at the following meeting. A discussion was held and it was decided that the Board would revisit this issue at a later date.

Chris Carlson, Doug Aitken and Chris Urqueita were each invited to be a Committee Member without Portfolio. All three accepted.

Clay Templeton was chosen as the Community Relations Officer (adopt-a-highway program).

Future Events

Sergio reported that Bill Burke will be in Texas at the end of January, 2005, and is available to teach a trail leadership class. The trail leadership class would be taught in Gilmer. Bill Mallin reported that Bill Burke stated that there was a limit of 8 cars, but each car could carry passengers. Bill Mallin volunteered to talk with Bill Burke about the details and any prerequisites for the class and report back to the club.

Steve McDonald reported that the Land Rover dealers are going back to the “Land Rover Way.” The Land Rover dealership on Washington is planning a club activity for the first quarter of next year.

Sergio asked for a show of hands on who would be interested in a trip to Moab or Colorado. By show of hands, the members were more interested in a trip to Colorado between July 9 and July 17, 2005. The club could, over spring break, take a trip to Arkansas.

The meeting adjourned at 8:45.

Minutes reported by Barbara Jacoby Howell, Secretary.
