Sergio Sosa, the President, called the meeting to order at 7:40 p.m. Introductions were made.
Past Events: Sergio announced that the HLRC Board met on July 3, 2006 , in which future events were discussed.
Future Events: Sergio stated that a monster garage has been scheduled for July 8, 2006 at Lance Miller's business.
Lance Miller announced that on August 5, 2006 , a movie night will be held at the home of Sam Shirley. The movie will be a camel trophy movie and will begin at 7:00 p.m. Another movie night will be held in September at the Renaissance Hotel. More details will be announced later.
Sergio reminded everyone that the Solihul Society National Rover Rally is scheduled in Moab , Utah , for the weekend of September 27 – 30, 2006 . If you plan on attending, you must sign up with the Solihul Society.
The HLRC is thinking of retaining Bill Burke to conduct a training class on October 14 th and 15 th , 2006. The cost would be $455 per vehicle and $20.00 to camp. The class would be held at Brazos Valley in College Station . The maximum number of trucks for the class would be eight (8). Sergio will send out a survey on Yahoo to verify that enough members are interested.
Doug Aitken stated that he would set up a rally for mid-August.
The AGM is scheduled for November, 2006. Also, in November, several members are planning a trip to Big Bend or El Paso over the Thanksgiving holidays. More details will be announced later.
An Adopt a Highway trash pickup day will be scheduled in September, 2006. All members are urged to participate.
Lance Miller announced that the HLRC has not planned an official trip to Gilmer at this time.
Steve McDonald stated that both Land Rover dealers in the Houston area would like to hold a dealer event during the 4 th quarter of this year. The meeting was adjourned at 8:00 p.m.
