Everyone started with the normal
introductions with their names and the Rovers they drive.
Doug officially welcomed the
newcomers to the group, and stated the Ącasual nature of
the group. Sam was given Kudos for doing all of the
planning of events for the club, and all of the upcoming
events soon to come up.
Sam started with the details of the
Columbus trail event on February 10, 2002. The new
ĄFreelander was the spotlight of the last trail event,
and some of the aspects of the Freelander was discussed.
Sam also stated the relationship between the club and the
dealerships, and how we support the dealer sponsored off
road events for new Land Rover owners. On Sunday,
February 24, Land Rover Houston will be sponsoring the off
road event, which we will help support as well.
The Oklahoma Land Rover club gave us
an invitation to join them in an off road event to be held
in Oklahoma, which will be held on March 2nd,
2002. We also have an invite from the Kansas City Club to
go wheeling in Hot Springs in the upcoming months as well.
It was also mentioned that the
possibility that Spring Creek will open up, with the
support of one of the local land owners. Cover charge is
$10.00 to have access through his land.
The Adopt a Highway program was
mentioned by Sam, and our 3rd year involvement
in this program.
The first weekend in May, there is an
impromptu group that go to a classic car show at Clear
Lake and the Watergate Yacht Club.
Susan gave the club an impromptu club
report on her first off road trip out to West Texas. She
stated that beginner”s courses are a little to easy for
her now, and she had a great time.
The Houston Land Rover Club magazine
was also touched upon by Doug. Doug asked all members for
article contributions to the magazine, and no article is

Drawings were held for door prizes,
and off the see the Rovers in the parking lot!
