Steve McDonald commenced the
meeting at 7:30 p.m.

to update the membership roster and verify who is up
to date on dues.
Past Events
Kai Dussling summarized the Bastrop Camping trip describing
it as a very relaxing family weekend, but there was
no off-roading. Sergio Sosa summarized the “Introduction
to Off-Roading” class that was co-taught by Sergio
and Doug Aiken and the “Trail Leadership” class
taught by Bill Burke in Gilmer. All three events had
good participation from club members.
Current Events
Melissa Burns reminded members of the 2 trail clearings
in Columbus, scheduled for February 12 and February
20, 2005, in anticipation of the Dealer event scheduled
for February 27, 2005.
Melissa also confirmed that there will be a trip to
Hot Springs, Arkansas over Easter weekend and that
on February 19 and 20th there will be a fund raising
benefit run in Gilmer for Ross Mabey.
Bill Mallin discussed the Bill Burke trips to Colorado
in July. There will be 2 trips in July and 8 trucks
will be allowed on each trip. The first trip will be
an advanced off-roading trip for highly modified vehicles
and the second trip will be an intermediate trip for
stock or slightly modified vehicles. The information,
including details on registration, will be posted on
the HLRC website.
Steve announced that the HLRC has adopted a new piece
of highway on FM 529 off of Barker Cypress in the “Adopt
a Highway” program.
The meeting adjourned at 8:35 p.m.
The minutes were recorded by Barbara Jacoby Howell,
Secretary.
