2006 Board Meeting at Taco Cabana
Attending: Sergio Sosa, John Vegas, Barbara Jacoby Howell, Steve McDonald, Lance Sloan, and Andy Warner. Lance Miller was unable to attend.
Sergio Sosa called the meeting to order at 11:50 a.m.
Website sponsorship page – Bill Mallin created a page that reflects the logos of some of the HLRC sponsors (“Sponsorship Page”). He sent an e-mail to the HLRC asking for sponsors who may have been omitted. The Board, after imput of the members, created a list of the sponsors. At the top of the Sponsorship Page, the following statement will be shown: “Houston LandRover Club wishes to recognize the generosity and support of the following sponsors.” The logo of each sponsor will be listed in alphabetical order with a link to the sponsor's webpage or contact information. On the home page for the HLRC, on the left side of the page, under links, a link will be added for Sponsors.
Membership update – John reported that he has brought the membership information up to date and that several long time members still have not paid their dues. Several people interested in running for a position on the Board still have not paid their dues. The Board voted to not ask members to pay back dues, but they must bring their dues current to continue to receive the benefits associated with the HLRC. Sergio will send an e-mail to Yahoo groups today stating that if members have not paid their dues by Wednesday, September 20, 2006 , they will be removed from Yahoo groups on Thursday, September 21, 2006 . At Andy's convenience, the members name will also be removed from the biography page posted at the HLRC website.
AGM – The Board voted to raffle off an Engel refrigerator/freezer. The tickets will cost $10.00 each. For the grand prize, the Board decided on Storm cases in various sizes. Both the Engel refrigerator/freezer and the Storm cases will be purchased from one of the HLRC sponsors. Several members have a good relationship with specific sponsors, so those members will be asked if they would like to contact those specific sponsors to obtain goodies for the AGM. Any remaining sponsors will be contacted by either the Board or members who have volunteered to contact sponsors.
The meeting was adjourned at 12:30 p.m.
